Spotlight: Making the best of my projector?

I just bought an Optoma projector EZPRO $ 739 700 i thought it was theft. I run my movies and games throughout the Svideo from my laptop with an ATI card. What are the settings I should adjust to obtain the best image quality on both my laptop and a projector. Also, where can I find a good quality screen? What do I search a projection screen? Can I use a certain type of white paint on the wall to simulate a screen?? thank you.

Hello, tigger (above) you gave settings.Projector screens are generally available as a fixed screen on a wall or a motorized screen that retracts into a housing near the ceiling. Or you can paint on a wall with white paint, but will not give you the results of a proper screen. If you decide to buy a look for a good flat screen non-reflective white uniform area with a border of 1 to 2 inch flat screen all around.
