Is it bad if an LCD Flat Screen tv does not have a contrast ratio?
I am comparing 2 tvs and the less expensive one does not have a contrast ratio and the expensive one does. What is a contrast ratio and how improtant is it?
Contrast ratio deals with how many levels of Black and White (or contrast) can be created in a TV set......
A contrast ratio of 2 : 1 will give you black.....and white only....
A contrast ratio of 800 : 1 is like the LOWEST ratio you'll ever find in a TV set made 4 years ago....
1000:1 is good.....3000 : 1 is about the BEST Display Panel presently out there.....
And any number ABOVE 3000 : 1 has been electrically enhanced by the TV set to make it look better....it helps, but the best thing to do is actually LOOK at the TV set and see if you think the picture looks great or not.....
