Anti Static

what household item can you use in replacement for a anti-static wrist strap?

I want to install a HD to my Pc and it says I need an anti-static wrist strap to takeaway the static what household item can use if i dont have an anti-static wrist strap

I've built a fair amount of my own systems and I've never bothered with a static strap, and I've never had problems. Nobody else I know who builds their own systems wears them either.

Just touch the metal of your case before you start work, and don't touch any of the contacts or anything like that.

I'm sure they're 'necessary' to some people, but not me.
