what is the best vga adapter? rca, component or hdmi?

i used to hook my computer up to my westinghouse 32" tv because it had a vga plug on the tv. the new tv i got doesnt have one. i heard i can get a VGA to RCA adapter to hook my pc up to my new tv. i was wondering how clear of a signal it is? will it look as clear as if my tv had a vga plug on it? will it look the same as it did on my other tv is what im really trying to ask.

or is there a vga to hdmi cable that would be a better option?

None of those will work.

Those adapters are only for special devices that can input or output composite video or component video through the D-sub VGA port, or in the latter case, for devices that can input or output analog RGB through the HDMI.

Your computer would have included one of these adapters if it were able to do this. The VGA RGB signal is a totally different signal from composite video, component video, or HDMI.

You will need to buy a transcoder box. VGA to component would probably be your best bet, as the VGA to HDMI ones are expensive, and the VGA to composite video ones only give 480i resolution.
